2008 Tours and Hours

Docent-guided tours are a terrific way to see the garden. Group tours can be arranged by contacting tour coordinator Rod Parke . (If email is not possible, you may call at (206) 909-3965). Tours are offered Fridays through Sundays for groups of 6-15 persons, and other days by special arrangement only.  Tours generally start at 11:00 a.m. and last two hours. The fee is $10 per adult ($5 for youths 12-17).  For student organizations, a flat fee of $60 is charged, up to a maximum of 15 persons per tour.

For individuals or groups fewer than six people, pre-scheduled tours are offered several times a year via the Shoreline and Edmonds Parks & Recreation Departments.  The fees and group size limits are the same as above.  These two-hour tours are good for individuals or couples, since they effectively gather a critical mass (6-15 persons).  They are scheduled for 11:00am Saturday mornings and are announced in each city's quarterly Recreation Guide.

For more information and to register please contact the Shoreline Parks & Recreation Department at (206) 418-3383 or the Edmonds Parks & Recreation Department at (425) 771-0230.

In advance of your visit we recommend visiting the History page of this website.  The photos and details will greatly enhance any visit to the Garden. Tours are wheelchair accessible.  The size of the paths limits each tour to 15 people.  All visitors must remain on the paths to avoid soil compaction and damage to plants. The upper garden is flat. The path to the lower garden is relatively steep but manageable by wheelchairs.

The garden is open to the public for self-guided tours (no charge) Friday through Sunday at designated hours. The MsK Rare Plant Nursery on site at the Garden is also open at such times.  A map is available at the garden, and the bird list identifies over 25 species that have visited the garden.

Please note that parking is limited.  The Kruckeberg Botanic Garden is located in a residential neighborhood with a narrow street right-of-way.  When planning to visit the Garden, carpooling is strongly recommended.  Please respect the rights and privacy of our neighbors, and leave room between your car and the road for pedestrians.  If you have questions about parking, contact us. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
