Dan Hinkley to Speak at Kruckeberg Botanic Garden’s Annual Meeting

The Kruckeberg Botanic Garden Foundation’s annual Members Meeting on January 12 will feature plantsman Dan Hinkley as guest speaker. His talk entitled ‘(Too Often) Overlooked Plants for Pacific Northwest Gardens’ will explore some of his favorite and hardy trees, shrubs, vines, grasses and perennials that are relatively and inexplicably absent from maritime Northwest gardens. The presentation will take place after a short meeting and election of board officers for the Foundation.

A world-class plant hunter, Dan has collected plants throughout the world and introduced new species to horticulture through his well-known nursery, Heronswood. Though Heronswood closed in 2006, his explorations continue to add new species to the palette of plants available to Northwest gardeners.

The annual Members Meeting will be held on January 12 at 7pm in the Shoreline City Hall. City Hall is located at 17500 Midvale Ave N, Shoreline.

The Meeting is open to the public, and all are welcome. Entrance is free for Garden members, with a suggested donation for non-members.
