Windcliff House & Garden Tour

windcliffPlant guru Dan Hinkley and architect Robert Jones, the partners who created Heronswood, open their home, cook you lunch, and guide you through their gardens

Windcliff, as conceived by Dan Hinkley and Robert Jones, is a relatively young garden of 12 years, although the site has been cultivated for a half century. On a high south-facing bluff over Puget Sound not far from their fabled Heronswood, the two have designed a house and garden in concert with creating a landscape evocative of the Mediterranean, while celebrating the unique qualities of our Washington climate. Amidst many Northwest natives, visitors can enjoy sweeps of South African natives (Agapanthus, Dierama, Watsonia, Rhodocoma, Eucomis and Kniphofia), shrubs, vines and trees from Asia (China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Bhutan, Sikkim and Nepal), and a pleasing collection of succulents and woody 'lilies' (Yuccas and Nolinas) from Mexico and SW North America.

An afternoon to remember for a lifetime to benefit Kruckeberg Botanic Garden. Limited to six people.

This will be the featured Live Auction Item at Garden Party on July 12th
