Volunteer in the Garden

Gardening Volunteer – Join a work party and help with general garden maintenance. No experience necessary; training is provided.

Advanced Gardening Volunteer – Are you proficient with general weeding, raking and mulching? Help us tackle more advanced jobs and work on a more flexible schedule.

Garden Work Party Supervisor – Are you proficient with general gardening and comfortable leading a group? Come supervise a small group at a work party.

Garden Work Party Youth Supervisor – Are you proficient with general gardening and comfortable leading a group of young people? Help us provide service opportunities for youth by supervising a small youth group at a work party.

Garden Carpentry Coordinator – Help us assess and prioritize needs, research plans, make design decisions, evaluate proposals, and estimate materials and costs as well as help evaluate and coordinate project supervisors.

Garden Carpentry Volunteer – Work alone or with a group to build benches, planter boxes and other items. No experience necessary when working with a group.

Garden Carpentry Supervisor – Share your carpentry and teaching skills to lead small groups building benches, planter boxes and other garden enhancements.      

Garden Carpentry Youth Supervisor - Share your carpentry and teaching skills with youth groups to help them build benches, planter boxes and other items. 

Onsite Hospitality Volunteer - Help visitors with parking, serve refreshments, and help educate visitors about the Foundation and its partnership with the city.

Garden Bird Team Member - Help document the birds that use the garden and increase the visibility of the garden as a place to come to see birds.

Garden Bird Team Leader - Lead monthly bird walks in the garden to develop a seasonal checklist of garden birds.

Nursery Propagation Volunteer - Help propagate plants and maintain the nursery by taking cuttings, collecting seeds, dividing plants, transplanting seedlings, fertilizing, watering, and weeding.
